Refinery Hair Co. is a transformed industrial space brimming with passion, talent and exceptional customer service in the heart of downtown Flint. We are made up of a team of highly trained creative hair stylists, massage therapists and beauty industry experts.

We have been voted the area’s best hair salon every year since opening our doors in the spring of 2019. We’ve received many accolades in that short time including recognition from the Governor, a business excellence award from the chamber and we were named a Top 100 finalist for “Salon Decor” from a global competition of more than 300,000 entries.

We opened Refinery Hair Co. with a mission of creating a unique salon with a big city vibe focusing on the highest level of customer service. Equally as important, we set out to create a community driven space where our team members would thrive both professionally and personally.

We pride ourselves on acknowledging the smallest details make the biggest difference. Our clients are greeted with the aroma of a proprietary blend of essential oils the minute they walk through the door. Our friendly customer service staff offers each guest a cup of our signature herbal tea or a cup of locally roasted coffee. We offer salon exclusive haircare products hand selected by our team to fit everyone’s hair needs and goals.

Refinery Hair Co. supports several local charities and non-profit organizations in the greater Flint area throughout Genesee County. We’ve held fundraisers in our salon as well as provided free educational classes for stylists throughout the community. We were also part of the Flint Mural Project in 2019 having one of our exterior walls beautifully painted by the Argentianian artist Seba Cener. We believe in the importance of being a good steward and supporting those who have allowed our team to follow their dreams.
